Experience Amsterdam from the water aboard the Stern, a historic and elegant boat offering exclusive private canal cruises through Amsterdam’s iconic canals. Combining classic Dutch maritime heritage with modern comfort, the Stern is ideal for private boat tours, intimate gatherings, business events and exclusive dinners on the water. With full standing headroom, a premium sound system, warm-air heating and an onboard restroom, the Stern offers comfort in every season. The spacious aft deck and sliding roof allow you to enjoy the Amsterdam canals in the sunshine or relax in a sheltered setting when the weather changes. Accommodating up to 12 guests, the Stern is perfect for a private canal cruise with friends, family or colleagues, as well as seated dinners and special occasions. Built in 1920 for the Koninklijke Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij (KNSM), the Stern originally served as an executive vessel. She transported company directors across the IJ and welcomed distinguished guests on exclusive cruises, establishing a rich history on Amsterdam’s waterways. Following the closure of KNSM in 1981, the Stern continued to navigate Amsterdam’s historic canals. In 2015, she underwent a complete restoration and joined the Private Boat Tours fleet. Today, the Stern combines her authentic historic character with contemporary amenities, offering a distinctive way to discover Amsterdam by private boat. Whether you are planning a relaxed canal cruise, a private dinner or a special celebration, the Stern provides an intimate and memorable setting on the water.
